DEQ TIPS TO HELP YOU PASS THE FIRST TIME
Do not turn off/restart your vehicle while moving forward in
the DEQ line. This could cause the computer system in your vehicle to "restart"
in the cold mode temporarily causing higher emissions.
If there is a long line at the DEQ and your vehicle idles for an extended amount of
time, this could allow the exhaust system to cool down, decreasing the chances of passing.
To help keep the entire system at optimal temperature, slightly increase the idle speed
occasionally for a short amount of time (do not over-rev the engine, this could do more
damage than good ).
If your vehicle has not been maintained properly or runs rough, I recommend that we test
your vehicle tune-up parts and verify decent DEQ readings before you waste your valuable
time and energy. A vehicle that is correctly maintained has a much greater chance of
passing DEQ the first time.
